Fibromyalgia, Fatigue, Chronic Fatigue, Always Tired, Tired, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, CFSFibromyalgia can be a debilitating condition that results in the rapid decline of a patient’s health and vitality. Before long, depression may set in as a result of the sudden life change. This just makes matters worse for someone who is in constant pain.

However, there may be a light at the end of the tunnel. A case study that was published last year gives hope that fibromyalgia may be helped by upper cervical chiropractic care.

The Results of the Study

The patient in the case study was a 32-year-old woman who had been suffering from fibromyalgia symptoms and depression for approximately two years. A patient history was taken that revealed many warning factors of an upper cervical subluxation. For example, she had dealt with migraines since age 7 and began suffering from ocular migraines starting at age 26. She had also experienced a separated shoulder at age 25 that led to some time with a physical therapist. Other symptoms included popping sounds that emanated from the neck as well as mid and lower back pain.

Posture analysis, a leg length check, and other tests revealed a likely subluxation in the C1 and C2 vertebrae. Imaging was used to determine the degree of the misalignment.

At this time, care began. Over the course of 6 months, the patient was examined 41 times and adjusted a total of 8 times. By the end of 6 months, the patient said that she no longer experienced any symptoms of fibromyalgia whatsoever.

Natural Help for Fibromyalgia in Draper, Utah

While this was just one case study, it reveals the potential for a relationship between the alignment of the upper neck and the onset of fibromyalgia. This means that any person who has a history of head or neck trauma and who is also suffering from fibromyalgia should get an upper cervical examination. If a subluxation is revealed, correcting it may provide benefits, possibly even helping a patient to find complete resolution as was the case in the study above.
